How connecting works
You sign in with Slack and approve SPREVA's bot for your workspace. Then you choose which channel each post goes to; a private channel only appears once you invite the bot there.
SPREVA never sees your Slack password. Most workspaces never need to reconnect, because Slack access does not expire on its own unless you remove SPREVA; where your workspace does expire it automatically, SPREVA renews it without you noticing.
What SPREVA adds
No double posts after a timeout
If Slack's answer gets lost on the way back, SPREVA looks for the message it just posted before trying again, so a retry does not post it twice.
Alt text for your files
Give each file its own description for anyone using a screen reader, right in the composer.
Post to a public channel without an invite
SPREVA can post to any public channel in your workspace, even one it was never added to. A private channel only shows up here once you invite it.
And as on every network: its own text for any account, an approximate preview, publishing now, on a date or through a queue, and a retry for only the accounts that failed.
Questions about Slack
Can I schedule Slack messages?
Yes. Publish now, choose a date and time, or add the message to a queue that fills your next free slot. SPREVA posts it from its own servers, so nothing has to stay open on your side.
Does SPREVA need to be invited to every Slack channel?
Only to a private one. SPREVA can post to any public channel in your workspace without being invited to it first.
Can I add files to a scheduled Slack message?
Yes, up to 10 in one message, each with its own alt text.
Is there a Slack character limit?
SPREVA stops a message at 39,000 characters. Slack itself starts folding a long message behind "Show more" past 4,000.
