Publish to social media from Codex

Codex already works in your terminal and your repository. With SPREVA added as a remote MCP server, it turns what you just shipped into posts, schedules them on every network and reports on how they did, without leaving the terminal.

The short answer

Yes: add SPREVA with codex mcp add, sign in once with codex mcp login, and Codex can use SPREVA's 25 tools: drafts, scheduling, publishing, the media library, queues, analytics and, on Pro and Business, the Studio's video tools. It posts to Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn and 31 networks in all.

Good to know

  • It needs a ChatGPT plan, and Free, Go, Plus, Pro, Business, Edu and Enterprise all include Codex. It also works with an OpenAI API key.
  • The Codex CLI runs on your computer and shares its configuration with the IDE extension and the ChatGPT desktop app, so adding SPREVA once sets it up in all three.
  • You choose in Codex's configuration whether it asks before it uses SPREVA's tools, and SPREVA still asks before anything public or costly, as your workspace decides.

Set it up

    Add SPREVA as a remote server. Codex saves it in ~/.codex/config.toml:

    Run codex mcp login spreva. Your browser opens SPREVA.

    Choose the workspace and click Allow. codex mcp list, or /mcp inside Codex, now shows spreva.

Questions

Can Codex post to Instagram?

Yes, through SPREVA: feed posts, carousels, Reels and Stories on a professional Instagram account. Instagram lets apps publish only to professional accounts, whatever the tool.

Can Codex post to TikTok and YouTube?

Yes. SPREVA publishes to TikTok, YouTube and 31 networks in all, each in its own format, and Codex can post to any account connected to your workspace.

Will Codex publish without asking me?

Not unless you let it. Publishing right away and spending AI credits ask you first unless you change it in SPREVA under Agents, then Policy. Scheduling at least an hour ahead goes ahead, unless you set that to ask too.

Which SPREVA plan do I need?

Every plan includes MCP, so Codex can draft, schedule, publish and report on any of them. Making videos needs Pro or Business. Every plan starts with a 7-day trial.
